Falling for Ayrshire Autumn

With the clocks now turned back and the temperatures dropping there is no denying we are firmly in autumn. It’s time to look out warm jackets, hats, scarves and gloves.

The dark nights, the misty mornings and the shorter days may try to dampen our moods as we know the warmth and light of summer has entirely gone.

Our mood at ‘We hae meat’ could never be damped though. As we move away from summer, we are so lucky to enjoy the riot of colour that autumn brings to our glorious location here in Ayrshire.

From our office windows at Cairnhill Farm, we enjoy stunning autumn views and the new life of the crops already planted for harvesting next year.

Autumn is a season that is famous for many things – harvest time, cooling temperatures and the dark cold nights. Nevertheless, one of the most stunning and spectacular signs of autumn is the turning of the leaves as they start to burst with glorious colours.

On our farm, the cattle have now been brought in from the fields and put indoors to protect and shelter them for the cold winter months ahead of them and will remain inside until the spring.

There is no better place to be than here at Cairnhill Farm, amongst the vibrant golds, reds, browns and yellows. What can we say? We definitely ‘fell’ for fall!
